The short version
We lease aircraft on ACMI terms (aircraft, crew, maintenance, insurance) to the organisations that run humanitarian air services. That includes the UN World Food Programme, which runs UNHAS, UNHCR, the ICRC, Médecins Sans Frontières and UN peacekeeping missions. Contracts run from a few days to several years. Some start the night they're signed.

How it works
What comes with the aircraft
The aircraft, set up for the job: passengers, cargo, a mix of both, or stretchers. Painted in your colours if you want (you pay for the paint).
Crews who know the strips, the weather and the checkpoints. Pilots, cabin crew and engineers travel with the aircraft.
Maintenance and spares, in the field and back at our hangar at Wilson Airport.
Flight following by satellite. An alert button sends the aircraft's position to our operations room and yours the moment it's pressed.
Insurance: hull and third-party, included in the lease rate.

What comes with an ACMI lease?
The aircraft, its crew (pilots, cabin crew and engineers), maintenance and spares, and hull and third-party insurance, which is included in the lease rate. Satellite flight following comes with every aircraft.
Who pays for fuel and airport fees?

How long can a contract run?
From a few days to several years. Some start the night they're signed.
Can the aircraft carry cargo or stretchers?
Yes. Each aircraft is set up for the job: passengers, cargo, a mix of both, or stretchers. Seating runs from 19 in the Beechcraft 1900D to 50 in the Embraer ERJ-145.
How do you know where the aircraft is?
Each aircraft reports its position by satellite, as often as once a minute. An alert button sends its position to our operations room and yours the moment it's pressed.
